Sexual Harassment
The legislation governing sexual harassment in the workplace in Cyprus is The Law for the Equal Treatment of Men and Women in Employment and Vocational Training 2002-2006 (Law 205(I)/2002). The Act refers to both verbal and actual unwanted behaviour that can be directed against you, as well as creating an intimidating, hostile working environment.
We have been asked to act on behalf of clients who have a complaint against their employer for either being sexually harassed or failing to take any action needed to prevent or deal with harassment incidents caused by others in the workplace.
Despite the absence of reporting requirements in Cyprus, Michael Legal Firm can advise and guide on how the law can protect against any retaliation towards a victim who reports a harassment incident or a number of occurrences.
